This seminar, which is the first of its kind, will be held on the eve of International Museums Day 2025. It will feature three informative presentations showcasing the State Library of Victoria’s work in building a state collection that aims to represent Victoria’s cultural diversity.
We are delighted to announce that the seminar will be opened by the esteemed long-standing multiculturalism and inclusion advocate, Dr Teresa De Fazio OAM (MAICD), former Commissioner for the Victorian Multicultural Commission. The presentation on “Victoria’s Italians 1900-1945” explores the first community-based multicultural exhibition at the SLV.
The Panel Discussion provides a unique opportunity to hear from representatives of six multicultural museums with collections that reflect Victoria’s vibrant multicultural history, ranging from long established institutions to upcoming museums.
SLUOC hopes that this highly significant seminar will foster understanding and cooperation and opportunities for greater interaction with the State Library of Victoria.
Speakers will include: Dr. Teresa De Fazio, Elizabeth Triarico and specialists from the SLV.
